Dr. Emily Levine graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University in 2000. She completed a one year internship at a specialty medical and surgical referral hospital in Arizona. 

Dr. Levine remained in Arizona for one year in general practice before beginning her residency in animal behavior at The Cornell University Hospital for Animals. After completing her residency, she moved to England where she ran the behavior clinic at the University of Lincoln, participated in clinical behavior research, and was an instructor.

Dr. Levine has authored several papers in peer reviewed journals on a variety of topics, including: noise fears in dogs, inter-cat aggression, and feather picking in parrots. She has co-edited international proceedings on behavior research that span a variety of behavioral issues such as: aggression, fears and anxieties, human animal bond topics, psychopharmacology and pheromonatherapy. She has authored chapters in textbooks on the subjects of noise fears in dogs, inter-cat aggression and house soiling in cats. Dr. Levine has appeared on local television programs and been interviewed for many articles on a variety of topics.

She has lectured internationally, nationally and locally on topics of animal behavior. Common lecture topics include: human directed aggression in dogs; compulsive disorders; fears and anxieties; house soiling in cats; inter-cat and inter-dog aggression; and feather pulling in parrots.

Dr. Levine is the Director of Behavioral Services at AERA and, at this time, is the only veterinarian in New Jersey board-certified in the specialty of animal behavior.
