Christiane Massicotte, DVM, MS, PhD, Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Neurology)
Dr. Christiane Massicotte received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from University of Montreal in 1994. She then completed an internship program at University of Minnesota and a residency program atVirginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. While participating in the residency program, Dr. Massicotte concurrently earned a Master's Degree in neurotoxicology. While at Virginia Tech, she continued her studies in neurotoxicology and obtained her Ph.D. in 2001.
Dr. Massicotte earned her board certification as a Diplomate in
Neurology of the American College of Veterinary Internal
Medicine in July 2001. She then worked at University of
Pennsylvania as an assistant professor of neurology at the
Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital, while conducting
research in molecular biology of the peripheral nervous
system with neurology members of the Mahoney Institute
of Neurological Sciences, University of Pennsylvania
Medical Center.
Dr. Massicotte joined AERA as the director of our neurology service in 2005. Her research interests include molecular biology, electrophysiology and disorders of the peripheral nervous system.

Jenny Scarano, DVM, Practice Limited to Neurology
Dr. Jenny Scarano obtained her DVM from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and then completed a one year internship program. She joined Animal Emergency & Referral Associates in 2007 as a neurology resident.
Dr. Scarano completed her residency requirements in April 2011 and is currently pursuing her board-certification testing. During this time she will be working closely with Dr. Massicotte and limiting her practice to neurology.
