Orthopedic & Soft Tissue Surgery
Kelly Johnson DVM, MS, DACVS-SA, completed her undergraduate work at the University of Richmond in 2002. She received her doctorate (with high honors) from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, and the following year, completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Hope Center for Advanced Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, VA. Dr. Johnson then completed a residency in small animal surgery at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. During her residency, she earned a Master’s degree in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences by completing a biomechanical study on the kinematics of the Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO). Dr. Johnson joined the Surgery Department at AERA in September, 2010.
