Renée Alsarraf, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology), became the Director of Veterinary Cancer Services at AERA in 2002. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in 1991. During her years as a student she established the university’s Pet Loss Support Group, which continues to help bereaved pet owners today. After receiving her Doctorate, Dr. Alsarraf completed a one-year internship, an oncology residency, research studies and additional radiation therapy training at the Animal Medical Center in NYC. She also participated in additional research studies at Memorial Sloan Kettering and received additional radiation therapy training at the University of Kansas. Dr. Alsarraf has authored several journal articles and oncology texts and has participated in many oncology studies in conjunction with Cornell University.
